Same day incorporations

Companies House is currently taking longer to process company formations than in the past. One. If a formation is urgently required, we recommend that you use the same-day service, for which there is now a tick box on the order form. The same day service costs an additional £52.25 including VAT. If Companies House receive the application before 3.00 it will be registered that day (unless there are technical problems, e.g. with the name). If you place the order after 2.30, same day service is not guaranteed, but it will still be processed in the quickest possible time

New rules on company names

New rules came into effect on 1.10.2009. The most restrictive is the new definition of what makes one company name the same as another, which will prevent its registration. These are causing problems to some clients. The following must be ignored when deciding whether names are the same: a blank space, a full stop or @, followed by biz, co; co uk, co.uk, com, company, EU, exports, GB, Great Britain, group, holdings, imports, net, NI, Northern Ireland, org, org uk, org.uk, services, UK, United Kingdom, Wales (and a whole lot of Welsh words).
